Remote meter reading

Does enerdata replace the SCADA?

No, it works alongside it. The SCADA monitors inverters, electrical panels and sensors, but it usually does not read the fiscal meter and sometimes does not respond. enerdata reads the meter directly, even when the SCADA is down: this is the measured production, the one the distributor takes into account.

What do I need to get started?

For each meter: model, modem phone number and K factor, in an Excel file to fill in. The connection is tested the same day, and data arrives from the next day.

Do I need to install anything?

No. enerdata calls the meters remotely, with no software or hardware to install.

Which meters are compatible?

Fiscal meters for which the producer is responsible (TIME, formerly resolution 595/2014), with modem and SIM: Iskraemeco, Landis+Gyr, Itron, CEWE, EMH, Elster, Kaifa and DPEE. The list of models is on the supported meters page.

Can I read the distributor's meter?

No. Meters managed by the distributor cannot be queried, even if they are compatible. Open Meters are also excluded.

What if a meter does not respond?

enerdata retries several times within the same call and throughout the day. If the problem persists, it flags it in the dashboard.

Do the readings interfere with the distributor's readings?

The readings avoid the time slots used by the distributor and are short, which further reduces the chance of interference.

Can I get the history of the load profiles?

Past months can be read, if they are still in the meter's memory.

How do I add new meters?

On the meter master data page, at no cost. On request we add them for you, for a fee: the cost is in the terms of service.

e-distribuzione and GSE portals

Which portals does enerdata cover?

Currently e-distribuzione and GSE. If you need another portal, write to us: we will assess it together.

What data does it acquire?

From e-distribuzione: active and reactive load profiles, monthly values and GSE/Terna measurements. From GSE: the Conto Energia (feed-in incentive), the Ritiro Dedicato (GSE dedicated withdrawal), the FER incentive and the web measurements. The details are on the portals page.

Do you need the credentials of my accounts?

Yes: enerdata uses the portal accounts you give us, for the PODs (points of delivery) to be monitored. The credentials are stored encrypted.

Can PODs under delegation be monitored too?

Yes. On e-distribuzione, enerdata also monitors the PODs you reach through a delegation.

What if the portal has not yet published some data?

In the grid, the data stays marked as expected until the portal publishes it, POD by POD.

Can I download the original files?

Yes. One click on a code in the grid opens the file. With Export, the files you choose are downloaded in a zip.

Pricing, contract and data

How is remote meter reading charged?

On credits. The activation is the first top-up and brings your initial credits, then readings use credits according to the meters you manage. You top up as much as you want, whenever you want, and there is no maintenance fee. Only successful readings use credits. The details are on the pricing page.

And the portals?

The same way, on credits: the activation is the first top-up and brings your initial credits, then usage depends on the PODs you manage on each portal and on the accounts you manage. Only successfully acquired measurements use credits. You top up when you want, with no maintenance fee.

Can I export my data?

Yes, at any time and on your own: load profiles, registers, portal measurements and master data, in Excel, CSV and zip.

What happens to my data if I cancel the service?

After termination you have at least 30 days to download it from the platform. Then it is deleted, with written confirmation. There are no data exit costs. The details are in the documents.

Where is the data stored?

On servers in the European Union, with hosting providers based in the Union. The data is not transferred outside the EU.
